MP3's are condensed audio files that provide near CD quality at only a fraction of the size. When converted to MP3 format up to 14 hours of audio will fit on a standard CD. To play these files you must have an MP3 compatable device. Ipods and other hand held MP3 player devices are extremely popular because of their ability to organize, rewrite and store audio files.
You may also burn MP3's onto a disk and play them in a CD or DVD player provided they are MP3 compatable (look for the MP3 logo on the device). Lastly, standard computer software such as Realplayer and Microsoft MediaPlayer are fully compatable with MP3 files.
If you are unsure whether your device is compatable, try downloading and testing the short clip below. Welcome to the world of compressed audio.
